Writing is the carrier of culture, and it has inheritance. The reproduction and inheritance of species also need DNA to record, so we combine the two for creation.
This work is based on buddhist prayer wheel, combined with DNA form, and created with the main materials and styles of the two artists.
The main reason for the use of the sutra wheel is that Buddhism has a long history of inheritance in Chinese history. Since its introduction into China, Buddhism has undergone many localized evolutions. For example, Buddhism initially combined with the local Shamanism in Tibet, but it was subjected to a campaign to exterminate Buddhism due to its gradual trend of endangering society and some inhumane acts such as making drums with human skin and making ritual utensils with human bones. It was not until Princess Wencheng entered Tibet that she introduced the more civilized Chinese Buddhism to Tibet. Chinese Buddhism was introduced from India. In the process of localization, it was divided into Tantra and Xiana, which in turn was divided into Mahayana and Hinayana Buddhism, thus deriving the new school of Zen.
In Buddhist thought, samsara is often associated with the actions of the previous life. People's achievements and mistakes in their life are often recorded, and they are reborn rich or poor, happy or ugly according to their life behavior. On the one hand, Buddhist thought can discipline people to do less bad things and more good deeds, but on the other hand, it also suppresses human nature and defines uncertain things such as wealth, status and appearance at birth, thus giving people who are born poor and ugly a layer of original sin. We should look critically at religious ideas, find the positive and remove the bad.
